Blind date

Amsterdam - the library on the Oosterdok. A modern building. Books. Silence. A great place for a blind date. It's the very same concept as bringing your date to the theather: 2 hours of being together without talking. Actually this is even better, you have the chance of staring at each other as much as you can, as opposed to watching a movie about materialism in Antarctica.


Or you could go shopping. But if you do, you need to resist the urge and actually enter some shops every now and then, at least one every two hours I would say. Or you will end up drinking coffee faster than you ever wanted, discussing Cantor diagonals - like you know, my infinity is bigger than yours - and there you go, your date is blown up.

No, a blind date is a serious thing, and should be respected. Actually you should not even call it a blind date, better a sight-impaired date. Bring her to a restaurant, a good-one-but-not-too-good, or you won't find a seat on Saturday evening, avoid tapas (too much garlic), traditional german food (too much beer); have some cava, quote your best Monty Python, listen to her reporting (pretend to if necessary) and enjoy life.
